Initiatives
Green Medical Foundation supports social impact initiatives that grew out of the Green Medical network. Each works where care, education and leadership are hardest to reach: rural communities, underserved neighborhoods, and communities overseas with little or no specialist care.
Servant Leadership Initiative
A nonpartisan forum for civic leaders, professionals and changemakers who believe public life should begin with service. Through conversations with leaders in medicine, policy and public service, the Servant Leadership Initiative (SLI) explores how conscience, empathy and integrity can guide those who serve their communities.
Horn of Africa Health Project
Dr. Mohamed Abdihalim, a U.S.-based neuroradiologist originally from Somalia, founded Somali Medical Relief in 2017. Working with the Green Medical network, the project has reached more than 13,000 patients, including 3,360 stroke patients and 2,750 cancer patients. Using cloud-based imaging, Dr. Abdihalim reads scans from the United States for clinics in Bosasso, and in December 2020 the project opened a second site with a CT scanner. It is the only radiology provider within a 500-mile radius in northeast Somalia.
